I understand that the Catholic Church has a diversity of opinion on any number of issues, unlike evangelicalism which is still largely monolithic. But the fact is that the leadership – even Pope Francis – makes the same mistake as evangelicals in turning the all encompassing love of Christ into an insider/outsider religion that leads to suffering and oppression. Until the Catholic Church proper decides that the gospel is good news for all, my only desire for it is to continue to shrink into irrelevancy.

Note to the “male and female” crowd: consider dusk and wetlands. Consider the atmosphere. Creation was not binary. Oh yeah, and consider science while you’re at it.
